Miquel Àngel Piera Eroles

Dr. Miquel Àngel Piera Eroles is Full Professor in the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Coordinator of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Group. His research focuses on modelling and simulation, decision support systems, logistics, transportation systems, air traffic management, airport operations, and socio-technical systems. He has served as principal investigator of numerous European FP7, Horizon 2020, and Horizon Europe projects and has contributed to the creation of technology-based spin-offs in the transportation and logistics sectors. He has supervised multiple doctoral theses and is internationally recognized for his work on simulation-based decision support for complex transportation systems.
